Roof Inspection Survey

STEP 1

ROOF INSPECTION & QUOTE

By booking a free roof inspection or site survey, our team can look at your existing roof covering and provide recommendations whether we are able to repair the roof or provide photo evidence on whether a replacement roof is required. We will then provide a written quotation, including any additional options requested such as Guttering, Cladding, Fascias & Soffit replacement.

STEP 2

TEMPORARY COVERING

We will also provide a suitable fitting date for your repair or replacement roof. If immediate action is required, our team will provide a water tight temporary covering to your leaking roof, that will be sufficient until your fitting date arrives. Providing peace of mind that no further damage should occur to the interior of the property.

STEP 3

REMOVE EXISTING ROOF

To avoid unnecessary mess and preserve existing garden features, we ensure that we provide a protective sheeting to any gardens or driveways. When removing he old roofing material, all this is done with minimal disturbance and disposed of with correctly. Fibre Tech have all required Waste Carriers Licenses.

STEP 4

LAYING THE DECK

If required we add new roofing insulation using 50mm or 100mm insulation boards. Along with new firring pieces which create the slants for water to correct run off the roof. We then add new  18mm OSB3 tongue and groove boards, held with 60mm screws for added peace of mind. Also adding batons to create the drip edge.

STEP 5

EDGE PROFILING TRIMS

To create the striking edges that you see on all our fibre glass flat roofs, we apply grey profile trims that will never lift, blister, crack or tare.

STEP 6

CORNER WORK

To help achieve the fibre glass slick, aesthetic look the corner joints and trims are bonded with reinforced fibre glass for longevity. The fibre glass will never blister, crack, warp or tare.

STEP 7

WET DECK WITH RESIN

We then lay 600gsm fibre glass chop strand matt and apply further resin on both sides of the fibre glass matting, allowing the resin to soak into the matting. We then begin spreading the resin out, helping it adhere to boards, and providing the fine finish, removing any air bubbles.

STEP 8

ACHIEVING A FLAT FINISH

After allowing the resin and fibre glass matting to cure / dry. Anywhere between 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on weather conditions. We then begin to sand down to obtain a smooth, flat finish.

STEP 9

APPLYING TOP COAT

We then add a UV resistant top coat colour. Anchorite Grey is provided as standard, however we can match to any British Standard RAL colour.

STEP 10

TESTING & GUARANTEE

Once the UV resistant top coat is dry, we ensure that the roof is water tight and weather resistant. The 20 year guaranteed is issued on payment with a physical copy provided as well as an electronic copy delivered by email.
